Security of Biometric Systems
První přístup je z oblasti testování živosti a znemožňuje použití různých typů falešných otisků prstů a jiných metod oklamání senzoru v průběhu procesu snímání otisků.
Reconstruction of the Bloodstream of the Finger in 3D from a Video Sequence
Záleský, Jiří ; Kanich, Ondřej (referee) ; Drahanský, Martin (advisor)
The goal of the master thesis is the design and construction of a device for capturing video sequences of the cardiovascular system of the finger of a human hand and the subsequently design and implementation of a method of data extraction for its reconstruction into a 3D model.
Finger vein biometry
Stibůrek, Miroslav ; Svozilová, Veronika (referee) ; Mézl, Martin (advisor)
The following work deals with basics of biometrics terms, history of biometrics, and methods of collecting and recognizing human characteristics. The work includes facts about physics, human anatomy and physiology - these elements are necessary for a full understanding of the issue. In order to segment finger vein, a method of pre-processing scanned visual data is devised. A practical part of paper contains a proposal of a device for scanning finger vein using minicomputer Raspberry Pi and its following realization. Database of images is created using realized device and applicability of extracted finger vein for application in biometric systems is discussed.
Fingerprint Liveness Recognition
Lodrová, Dana ; Orság, Filip (referee) ; Drahanský, Martin (advisor)
This document deals with presentation of nowadays software and hardware methods used for fingerprint recognition with focus on liveness testing and thereafter it deals with description of my solution. In order to describe results obtained from study of technical literature, we discuss important terminology of biometric systems at first and further main principles of fingerprint sensors used in practice are shown. From overviewed methods of liveness detection we underline one method based on  perspiration (researched by BioSAL laboratory) and one spectroscopic method researched by Lumidigm Corporation. The study of liveness testing methods inspired me to creation of new type fingerprint sensor which has built-in livennes testing method based on two characteristic properties of living human tisue. In order to test this sensor, we discuss nowadays sensor deception method. It follows from their analysis, that newly designed sensor should be theoretically resistant to each of them.
Biometrical Liveness Detection - Mechanical Characteristics
Zaklová, Kateřina ; Mráček, Štěpán (referee) ; Drahanský, Martin (advisor)
Main focus of this thesis is the detection of liveliness of the finger by the means of mechanical methods. Theoretical part of the thesis describes biometric systems, their reliability metrics, various kinds of sensors and methods of liveness detection. Two methods are covered in detail - liveness detection by odor and liveness detection by temperature. The thesis also illustrates implementation of the application for liveness detection by temperature and evaluates range of experiments carried out during the research.
Emotional Cartography
Rygálová, Monika ; Pfeiffer, Jan (referee) ; Sterec, Pavel (advisor)
The work aims to artistically compile perception of maps as a fact, what let us think about The world - how we know it from the map. I work with data, which I gain by displaying technology – eye tracking, which helps me to record track of moving eyes during watching any kind of picture. The observations will be people from different places such a place of stay etc. Gained data I am going to use as a study, which I will componate to maps and different vizualizations of world, countries etc. "Where i have not ever been before, it does not exist" – is idea of percepting world, wich I also work with on that project. Study will contain all aspect of perceiving maps and systematicly shown world related to the person, his memories to that place, fyzical contact and his impact in his scale person versus a the world.
Biometric System Performance Testing - Fingerprint Technology
Šuta, Matej ; Lodrová, Dana (referee) ; Drahanský, Martin (advisor)
This thesis describes technologies currently used by fingerprint sensors. Couple of procedures are designed to test the properties of these sensors. These procedures are focusedon the environmental influence on the sensor's functionality and it's resistance to spoof attacks. The results of these tests are processed and evaluated to show different aspects of the system.
Finger vein biometrics
Bělehrádek, Stanislav ; Sekora, Jiří (referee) ; Mézl, Martin (advisor)
This thesis presents basic concepts in the field of biometrics, with a focus on optical methods of finger vein biometrics. The paper also contains additional information including physics and anatomy terms, which are important for understanding presented problems. Part of the thesis is draft of the device used for finger vein biometry and proposal of effective image preprocessing process for biometric purpose. Main part of the thesis contains creation and testing of such device. User interface is created in MATLAB and allows identification and verification of people with record in database. Biometric system is tested on group of 16 individuals. Achieved results are discussed and compared with results of similar devices.
Support for Fingerprint Authentication
Bartoň, Jaroslav ; Beran, Vítězslav (referee) ; Mlích, Jozef (advisor)
The goal of the thesis is the finger-print authentication support within the Linux operating system and the K Desktop Environment (KDE). Theoretical part of the thesis firstly explains main IT security terms and ways to proof the identity. Secondly it describes biometric systems and types of processed biometric characteristics. Lastly the features of finger-prints, their markants as well as types of scanners used in scanning the finger-prints and ways to analyze the scanned material have been elaborated. Practical solution part of the thesis develops and establishes finger-print management application and plugin for KDM graphics login manager.
Biometric System Performance Testing - Hand Geometry Technology
Hrnčiřík, Matej ; Orság, Filip (referee) ; Lodrová, Dana (advisor)
This thesis describes difficulties of testing one of many biometric technologies - hand geometry technology. Several procedures were designed to test this technology. The whole testing process was performed on HandKey II device. One of the objectives was to determine whether the device can be fooled using artificial hands. Next objective was to design and perform tests aimed at identification and verification. Results are processed and evaluated from several aspects.
